Decanter World Wine Awards

Red and black fruits are earth sprinkled and sand sweetened, and there are violet notes here too, plus a little subtle spice. On the palate the wine is deep, firm structured and authoritative; that spice seeps into the tannins, and that earthiness is back on the finish of this ample, almost savoury red burgundy. A wine for the cellar for fortunate purchasers. 97 Points, Platinum Medal and Best in Show Award

A mentholated top nose is present on the moderately oaked liqueur-like aromas of dark currant, warm earth and leather. The sleek, elegant and attractively refined flavors possess excellent depth on the lingering finish that tightens up significantly as it sits on the palate. This is potentially outstanding and a wine that should amply repay 15 to 20 years of cellaring. In a word, excellent. (Drink starting 2034).
