Oh what a nose - perfumed fruit galore! There’s cherry, softly cooked stone fruit, spice, blood orange, and back notes of mocha and smoke. They come in waves. It is very engaging. The palate delivers the same flavours and there is a sweet/savoury play off between the fruit, spice and citric acidity that supports everything. IThe mind wanders and it reminds me of a great sauce - everything in balance and the sum of the parts even greater than the constituent elements. But this is wine and it is all about fruit, texture, complexity, balance and length. I am fast learning that the fruit of 2019 is exeptionally appealing. It is properly ripe with a generous, finely textured mouthfeel. The vintage conditions have provided a freshness and vibrancy seen only in great years. This really is a beautiful wine that I would easily confuse as a fine Premier Cru and happily pay quite a bit more for.

Fine mid purple, the nose is beautifully rumbustious, Startling striking fruit, nicely oaked, a mix of all the red fruits in succession, finishing more on bright cherry. Lovely fruit at the back of the palate. Absolutely delicious, quite primary, will keep well. 5 Star Wine.
