Gilbert & Gaillard

Bright straw-yellow. Refined oaky nose with a very subtle array of fruit and flower aromas (bush peach and lime). The palate is still reticent but reveals weight, fat and freshness that energise aroma. Has its future all mapped out. 96 Points and Gold Medal

The nose is fruity, fresh, elegant and offers a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as richness. It reveals notes of ripe yellow apple and small yellow fruits associated with discreet hints of citrus and a subtle hint of almost saline minerality. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, a mineral frame, a fine tension as well as a beautiful definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe lemon, small ripe yellow fruits and small notes of kumquat associated with discreet hints of yellow flowers, exotic fruits (in the background) as well as a hint of almond and saline minerality. Good length and persistence.

Decanter World Wine Awards

Generosity is intrinsic to the promise of Meursault, but the village's best wines always manage to express this with subtlety, freshness and an overall sappiness and vitality which means that great examples are never overweight or obvious.  This Best In Show Charmes is a copybook example of just how engaging a combination that can be, with its fragrant drift of sweet lime subtly amplified by restrained oak, it offers poised and restrained palate wealth.  It's teasingly gratifying now, but may well be even better with a few cellar years under its belt.  Drink 2019-2028. 97 Points and Trophy for the Best White Burgundy at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2019
