Labelled as a Premier Cru because it combines fruit from four different lieux-dits - Ronceret, Rochardelle, Lurets and Carelles sous La Chapelle - this old-vine cuvée has appealing freshness and focus with crunchy red berry fruit, clove spices from 30% whole clusters and adroitly interwoven 25% new oak. Definitely more than the sum of its parts.

Cask sample. Closed nose, but the fruit has better definition and depth on the palate. Deep and savoury in style, with core power that is appropriate for a premier cru. Needs time.
