Orma Toscano Rosso 2015 (5378)

Orma Toscano Rosso 2015 (5378)

Italy - Tuscany
Bordeaux Blend

Orma is deep ruby with garnet reflections. On the nose, the wine demonstrates presence and intensity of aroma. Notes of red and black fruit are supported by sweet spice, cocoa, dry earth, mediterranean herbs and tobacco. On the Palate, Orma is elegant and dense. Orma's sturdy, yet ripe tannin structure lends the wine a velvety texture. Bright acidity reflects the wine's Italian terroir and keeps the wine balanced through a long finish. Expect excellent ageing potential from Orma.

Orma is a powerful red wine that matches wonderfully with full-flavored dishes, particularly those based around game and roasts. However the wine's delicate layers of flavor coupled with purity of fruit make it an ideal companion to ripe cheeses, or simply as a Vino da Meditazione as well.

The 2015 Orma is absolutely rich in intensity and thick in extract. The sunny 2015 vintage is all about exuberance and gosh you do get that here. This is a viscerally exciting wine with a large load of dark fruit, blackberry and crème de cassis. Those fruity tones segue to spice, leather, tobacco and barbecue smoke. Roasted espresso bean and dusty chocolate appear on the full-bodied finish. This is a complete, rich and nicely extracted red wine from the Tuscan Coast. The blend is 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc.

Vinous - Josh Raynolds

The 2015 Orma is fabulous. Pliant and resonant in the glass, the 2015 is a total pleasure bomb. Mocha, espresso, raspberry jam, rose petal, mint and cedar all race out of the glass in this stunningly beautiful, gracious wine from Orma. All the elements simply fall into place effortlessly. A closing flourish of aromatic intensity punctuates the finish.

James Suckling Tasting Report

Plenty of ripe blackberry and incense. Opens up beautifully in the glass. So perfumed. Full body and seamless tannins that coat your palate with a silky texture. Wonderfully framed with complex fruit. Drink in 2021 but already gorgeous.
