Harvested on October 9th, grapes in perfect health, vatted for 19 days with pigeage twice a day.

Aged for 22 months in oak barrels (50% of new barrels).

A beautiful bright ruby-red colour.

The nose is both discreet and precise: notes of sweet fruits (candied oranges) and fresh red fruit (raspberries, red currents).

Somewhat tight from ageing in 50% new barrels, it will need a few years to mellow fully.

The mouth is beautifully textured - juicy and racy with a surprising lushness for this wine. Its fruity character is typical of the appellation: Morello cherries and pomegranate seeds. The density, richness and length are already exceptional.

This is laced with violet, black currant and blackberry flavors, accented by earth and tobacco notes. The tannins are firm, intensified by the vibrant acidity. Shows a streak of purity and pedigree that makes this complex, long and appealing. Best from 2020 through 2035.

This is also a wine of contrasts as the well-layered nose combines brooding and somber fruit aromas with exuberantly spicy and floral elements. There is good punch to the attractively rich and moderately concentrated flavors that exude a subtle bead of minerality on the naturally sweet and well-balanced finale. This is very much crafted in the classic Gelin style with its emphasis on finesse and refinement which is in no small part due to the fine-grained tannins.
