Jancis Robinson

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Almost as fragrant as the Nuits-Saint-Georges but not quite as sweet-fruited on the nose. Perhaps just a touch of crushed herbs. Darker and richer on the palate, deep, dark-red fruit, compact tannins, with the fruit seeping round the edges and a long fresh finish. The tannins are pretty dry on the end but it should all come round because the fruit is there to balance. (JH)

(from a tiny .17 ha parcel of vines planted in 1992 in a little seen vineyard located at the southern end of the “Vosne” section of Nuits). Discreet wood serves as a relatively neutral backdrop for the fresh aromas of red currant and earth that are laced with plenty of sauvage character. The rich, mouth coating and sappy medium weight flavors possess fine volume while concluding in a moderately rustic finish that offers both fine depth and length. (89-92)/2026+
