The Fine Wine Review

Beautiful finesse here with lightness on the palate. The wine is long in the mouth with slight earthiness to the fruit to add complexity.

Firm reduction suppresses the underlying fruit. There is a slightly finer mouth feel to the caressing middle weight flavors if not quite the same excellent complexity compared to the Grèves though the natural refinement of a fine Bressandes partially compensates on the dusty and moderately firm finale. Vinous: Stephen Tanzer

(still a significant percentage of malic acidity remaining): Bright ruby-red. Reticent aromas of black fruits and mint. Boasts a dense texture and almost chocolatey sweetness but an impression of calcaire energy gives the very concentrated middle palate considerable finesse for a Beaune wine. Slightly high-toned in a seductive way. Still quite young and unevolved--and tricky to assess with confidence prior to the end of its malolactic fermentation--but this looks to be a superb vintage for this premier cru. The finish displays fine-grained tannins and terrific subtle length and lingering perfume.
