Wow, from the nose there's no confusing where this wine is from. Absolutely classic, oyster shell, mineral bouquet. There's lime and grapefruit playing the background. Some gingerbread notes. The palate show more citrus, some sherbet and a brilliantly subtle hint of sulphides add extra complexity. The acid is not quite as high as in 2014 but the wine has race and drive and most of all typicity. The finish is long with power and a saline twang that I love in Chablis. And like the 2014 this wine has the complexity of many a Grand Cru. A very special wine that I am beginning to believe transcends each vintage. With just 1000 or so bottles made annually from a low cropped plot of 0.55 hectares this is a wine that all serious Burgundy lovers should have at least a few bottles of in their cellar. You could say I am impressed.

P.S. The domaine has changed the label and the name of this wine in 2015. They have dropped the Petit Chablis and simply call the wine L'Inextinct Franc de Pied Chardonnay. Such is the quality of this very special pre phylloxera vine bottling.
